IN MEMORIAM — 1964-2022

To Our Valor Community -

July 25, 2023 is the one-year anniversary of the passing of our colleague and friend, Richard Tait.  While time has passed, Richard's memory and legacy continue to be intrinsically connected to our Firm, team, and culture. 

Richard loved Valor, conceiving the term “Valorian.”  Each day, he demonstrated his passion and commitment to our mission of both investing in and serving companies seeking to make the world  a better place.  He expressed this passion through his work at the companies we serve, as well as mentoring many members of our VSV team.  Richard was always present, available, and ready.  With a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh, he combined an intense dedication to our work with joy.  

Richard left an indelible mark at Valor.  His positive “can do” attitude and belief in our team continue to inspire and motivate us.  We see and feel his legacy throughout Valor, particularly in our VSV team who benefited from his incredible knowledge, experience as an entrepreneur, and passion for entrepreneurship.   We know that without Richard, VSV would not have been possible.  

We also continue to remember his three children, Remi, Finn and Deacon, his fiancé Amy and her daughter, Bella.  He loved them all greatly and we know they meant the world to him.

We miss Richard greatly.
