Marcus joined Valor in 2017 as a Senior Associate, Marketing and Investor Relations. Marcus focuses primarily on the Firm’s capital raise and client service functions.
Prior to joining Valor, Marcus was the Deputy National Finance Director, Midwest for the Hillary for America (“HFA”) campaign where he managed the fundraising efforts for the 13 states that comprised the Midwest region. Prior to HFA, Marcus served as Chief of Staff at Enduring Hydro/Cube Hydro Partners. There, he spearheaded special projects and sourced new opportunities to build, buy, and upgrade hydropower in the United States.
Marcus also held senior roles in President Obama's reelection campaign and within the Obama administration. He served as National Finance Director of the African American Leadership Council (“AALC”) at the Democratic National Committee and as the Deputy Director of the AALC and the Midwest region for the 2012 Obama-Biden campaign. He previously held positions in the White House Office of Management and Administration and at the National Economic Council.
Marcus is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated with his B.A. in both Public Policy Studies and Psychology from Duke University.
